Stephanie Conti is a fine art and portrait photographer in St. Simons Island, Georgia. Her artistic journey is rooted in the rich textures of analog photography and the transformative processes of the darkroom. These foundational experiences shaped her understanding of light, composition, and the magic that unfolds during creation. Today, the intersection of tradition and innovation, blending classic techniques with the latest digital technologies add dimensions to her work.
Stephanie’s journey into photography began as a personal escape, a way to document not only her children’s growth but also the evolution of motherhood. Over time, this hobby evolved into a profound artistic expression, blending the innocence of youth and the frailty of familial life with a keen eye for detail. Her work reflects heavily on domesticity and how identity is shaped by space and place, transforming the mundane into extraordinary narratives.
Stephanie explains the tactile nature of film inspires a sense of authenticity and intimacy, while digital tools allow for experimentation and manipulation that push the boundaries of her vision. In addition to her commercial photography business, Stephanie graduated in December of 2022 as valedictorian with her MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and after developing a course on visual metaphor in photography she is currently pursuing a career in collegiate professorship.
